SILVER LAKE [4]. AKA and see "Carrolltown Breakdown (2)" (Pa.). American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Bayard thought the tune (“highly popular in Pennsylvania”) to be a derivative of “Buffalo Gals.” The usual name for the tune in Pennsylvania is “Carrolltown Breakdown,” with the name ‘Silver Lake’ in the region usually referring to the tune “Silver Lake (3).”
