SORRY I AM. AKA - "Sorry I am for what I have done." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The source for the tune was Cincinnati melodeon player Michael J. Kennedy (1900–1978), originally from Flaskagh Beag in County Galway. In 1923 he emigrated to Cincinnati in the United States, and spent his career there working for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Kennedy sang this couplet on his recording before launching into the tune:

Sorry I am for what I have done,
Sorry I am for what I have done;
Sorry I am for what I have done,
To marry the father instead of the son.
