SPANISH WALTZ [4]. AKA and see "Allentown (Waltz) (The)." English, Waltz (3/8 or 3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDDEEFF. This multi-part melody was entered as "Spanish Waltz" in the 1833 music manuscript book of musician Lionel Winship of Wark, Northumberland. A fourteen part (!) version of the same tune can be found as "The Allentown" in Peter Kennedy's Fiddler's Tune Book: Slip Jigs and Waltzes (1999, No. 93), provenance unknown.
