SPATTER THE DEW [2] (Sciap an druct). Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCD. Melodically, this tune seems to cover much the same ground as the more frequently played slip jig "Kid on the Mountain (1) (The)," albeit it is itself a distinctive tune. Paul de Grae notes that "Spatter the Dew (2)" is related to "Bogadh Faoi Shúsa" in P.W. Joyce's collection, obtained from the Irish music collection of Cork musician and music collector William Forde (c.1795–1850) and that all three tunes cover "similar melodic material, assembled in different ways"[1].
