SPREAD EAGLE. English, Slip Jig (9/8 time). C Major (?). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the 1770 music manuscript copybook of Northumbrian musician William Vickers. The tune is noted without sharps or flats in Vickers’ manuscript, but may be in the key of F.
