The Flanagan brothers played the tune with a ‘B’ part of only fourteen bars rather than the usual sixteen (Dave Mallinson added the extra bars in the setting he prints). They were the most popular group of Irish entertainers in New York City between the early 1920’s and the late 1930’s, and played at concerts and dances, in bars and in clubs, as well as on radio. They recorded fifty 78 rpm recordings for several record companies.
