ST. JOHNSTON’S. Irish, Hornpipe (whole time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. The hornpipe appears in Boston button accordion player Jerry O’Brien’s Irish Folk Dance Music, collected from his student, Joe Derrane, where it is incorporated into the tune “Showman's Fancy” as the 3rd and 4th parts of that medley. Fiddler Frankie Gavin also borrowed the “St. Johnston’s” tune for a barndance medley, recorded by the group De Danann.
