STACCATO POLKA, THE. English, Polka (2/4 time). D Major (‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ parts) & G Major (‘D’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. This "Staccato Polka" was composed by Robert Whinham (1814-1893), a musician, teacher, composer, dancing master and fiddler originally from Morpeth, Northumberland. There are other tunes as well with the title "Staccato Polka."
