STEELEY RAG, THE. AKA - "Steeley's Rag." American, Country Rag/Blues (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A country rag (or raggy-blues tune) from Dallas/Ft. Worth fiddler A.L. "Red" Steeley (1893-1969), who recorded the tune in November, 1930, in Dallas, backed by his wife Mildred on guitar. Steeley was one-half of the group Red Headed Fiddlers, along with "Red" Gramham.
