SUGARCANDY. AKA - "Suggar Candie." Scottish, English; Reel (whole time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection (p. 91). The tune appears on the same page with “New Christmas,” and perhaps Bremner meant to associate the titles. The tune was entered into the 1794 music manuscript collection of New York City flute player Micah Hawkins.
