A modern composition by Barnagraove, County Cavan, fiddler and composer Ed Reavy (1898-1988), who emigrated to Philadelphia, Pa., when still in his teenage years. The jig was called for some reason the “Flock of Wild Geese” on the Rounder “Reavy” album with Brendan Mulvihill and Billy McComiskey, whose band The Irish Tradition also recorded it on their last album, “The Times We’ve Had,” under the title “The Flight of Wild Geese.”
