SWEET 'BAMA. American, Reel (cut time). A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AABB. The source for the tune is fiddler Stanley Bailey (1914-1988) of Nashville, Berrien County, south Georgia. Bailey was the Georgia State Fiddle champion in 1932 and 1934. Bailey was "rediscovered" in the 1980's, several years prior to his death, and was recorded in the field by Ohio fiddler Joe LaRosa, Alice Gerrard, Bob Carlin, Jim and Joyce Cauthen and others.
