THREE HALFPENCE A DAY [2]. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody modulates to G major briefly in the ‘B’ part. The tune is contained as well in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Canon James Goodman (County Cork).

Additional notes

Source for notated version: - Goodman had the jig from the music manuscripts of collector John Edward Pigot (1822–1871), whose source was "Miss O'Connel." She his informant for a half-dozen tunes and had lent Pigot a manuscript in her possession. Her "Three Halfpence a Day" is identical to the version published earlier by O'Farrell.
