TIM GUIHEEN'S POLKA. The first strain of this polka family is derived from Duncan MacIntyre's strathspey "Mrs. Ramsay of Barnton (2)" and was originally associated with northwest Ireland, although more widespread nowadays. Variants of the melody go by a rariety of names, as above, and all have the same (or similar) first strain, however, the second strains often differ from one another. Frank Roche used the same first strain in a march, "John with the Light Brown Hair."
