TIME O' DAY, THE. AKA "Time of day." Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Irish collector George Petrie (1855) noted: “same melody as ‘Ride a Mile.’” “Time o’ Day” appears to be a derivative of the Scottish “Woo'd and Married and a'“. The second strain is shared with "My Mind Will Never be Easy" where it also can be found as the second strain. A note in Stanford/Petire gives: "Same melody as "Ride a Mile" (Riding a Mile).
