TOM CONNOR'S HORNPIPE (Cornphíopa Thomáis Uí Chonchuir). AKA and see "Callaghan's Hornpipe (2)," "Killaloe Hornpipe (The)," "Widow Cantwell's Fancy (The)." Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Tom Connor was a fiddler from Farrankale, near Ballydesmond, County Cork, on the Cork-Kerry border. The melody was collected by O’Neill as “Widow Cantwell's Fancy (The)” and, in the mid-19th century, by Church of Ireland cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman (1828-1896) as “Killaloe Hornpipe (The).”
