TOMORROW MORNING (Maidin Amarac). AKA and see "20th of May (The)," "Favorite (6) (Hornpipe) (The)," "Hornpipe (49)," "Morning Fair," "Poll of Wapping Hornpipe," "Texarkana Hornpipe." Irish, Hornpipe (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was published in the early 1770's in London by the Thompsons under the title "Favorite (6) (Hornpipe) (The)," and appears in English musicians' manuscript collections of the first half of the 19th century as "20th of May (The)." Paul de Grae finds the tune to be a duplicate of William Bradbury Ryan's "Morning Fair" with an altered title, and cognate in the first strain to Ryan's "Texarkana Hornpipe" (the second strain is slightly different)[1]. County Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894) entered a version as an untitled hornpipe in Book 3 of his c. 1883 music manuscript collection.
