The tune is the first that Cajun fiddler Dennis McGee learned to play the day he received his first instrument. Related tunes, according to Raymond François (1990), are Leroy "Happy Fats" LeBlanc's and Ervin Vin Bruce's versions of "La Valse de Sainte Marie," Blackie Forestier's "All for the Same" and Merlin Fontenot's "Les Maringouins."
