TRIP TO QUEBEC, A. English, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. The city and province of Québec fell to the British in 1759 during the global conflict known as the French and Indian War in North America, and the Seven Years War in Europe. The melody is unique to London publishers Charles and Samuel Thompson’s 1765 country dance collection.
