TRIP TO THE WOODLANDS. English, Jig (6/8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Trip to the Woodlands" can be found in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter, a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England. H.S.J. Jackson's "Queen of the May (3)" is a similar melody with many points of correspondence, although perhaps not cognate.
