Scottish, March (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "The Tulip [1]" was composed by James Oswald and printed in his Airs for the Spring (c. 1747). Several song and dance tunes are descended from Oswald's air, including the Irish anthem "Wearing of the Green" and the morris dance air "Balance the Straw (1)."
