TULLYVEOLAN MARCH. Scottish, March (4/4 time). D Major (‘A’ and ‘B’ parts): G Major (‘C’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’CC’. Composed by Scottish fiddler-composer biography:J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927). 'Tullyveolan' is a fictional setting in Sir Walter Scott's (1771-1832) novel Waverly (1814) modeled after Craighall, Perthshire, the residence of Major-General Clerk Rattray, the seat of Clan Rattray, and set his novel Waverley (1814) in nearby Tullyveolan, Perthshire. When his publishers (Ballantyne's) business failed, the book helped restore his fortunes after losing all.
