The name is Dutch, implying origins in that country; however, the melody is from Straight and Skillern's Two Hundred & Four Country Dances (vol. 1, p. 20, 1775), reprinted in Skillernâs Compleat Collection of Two Hundred & Four ReelsâŚCountry Dances (p. 92, 1780).
Dort or Dordrecht is a city of southwest Netherlands on the Meuse River southeast of Rotterdam.
