WHY DIDN'T I LOVE MAIRE? (Tuige gan Grá a'm do Mháire?). Irish, Slip Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Breathnach gives this verse to the tune from Tim Leahy:

Why didn't I love Maire?
Why didn't she love me?
Why didn't I love Maire,
Better than anybody?

She has twenty cows,
And I have only four.
Buckle them up together
And that’ll make twenty-four.

Breathnach (1985) finds the ‘B’ part similar to that of “Beesom (The).”
