WILD MORRIS, THE. AKA – “Ye Wild Morris.” English, Country Dance Tune (2/2 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. "Ye Wild Morris" was first printed in biography:Daniel Wright's An Extraordinary Collection of Pleasant and Merry Humours printed around the year 1715 (dates vary from 1713 to 1720). The tune was played as a "Morris Off" (i.e. the ending tune where the dancers leave the field) by Charles Baldwin, formerly musician for the side at Cliffords Mense, Gloucestershire.
