WILTON LODGE. Scottish, Strathspey. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. Composed by Robert Howison. Wilton Lodge is in the Scottish Borders, near Hawick, Roxburghshire. It was originally in the hands of the Scottish-Norman Longueville family (anglicized as 'Langlands'), until sold to Thomas Elliot. Several years later the estate came into the hands of Lord Napier of Ettrick and Thirlestane, who changed the name of the house from Langlands to Wilton Lodge. In 1802 Lord Napier was appointed Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly. Wilton Lodge and Park is now in the public domain, and is one of the most visited public areas in Scotland.
