WISSAHICKON DRIVE. Irish, Reel (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Cranford, Perlman, Songer): AA’BB’ (Black). Composed by Chicago Irish-style fiddler Liz Carroll and named for a famous tree-lined winding city drive in northwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which leads to the Commodore Barry Club, the site of many Irish music events in the city. Perlman (1996) notes it is one of the few contemporary tunes from the United States in circulation on Prince Edward Island.
