BELLE OF THE STAGE. American, (Lancashire) Clog. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. Composed by Edwin Christie, a journeyman composer in the Boston, Massachusetts, area in the latter 19th century who contributed several tunes to Ryan's Mammoth Collection. Not to be confused with the famous blackface minstrel Edwin P. Christy of Christy's Minstrels.
