BLIND FIDDLER, THE. AKA - "More Noise than Work." English, Old (or Triple) Hornpipe (6/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was originally published in Charles and Samuel Thompson's third country dance collection (London, 1773). It appears (as do several of the Thompson's 1773 tunes) in the music manuscript copybook of fiddlers John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.).
