Tarland Memories
Peter Milne died in 1908. The text in the notes page mentions that he was reduced in later life to busking on Forth ferries, "until the road bridge was built". The road bridge opened in 1964! Was the note intended to state that he worked on the ferries till 1890, the date when the rail bridge opened? As the ferries continued in use until 1964 the opening of the rail crossing might have reduced ferry traffic, but it certainly did not close the ferries.
