The photograph labeled "The Carter Brothers" should probably be labeled "The George W Carter Family." George Washington Carter was born 16 November 1869 and died 3 September 1948 at age 78. He was the father of James "Jimmy" Auguston Carter who was born 6 August 1900 and died 8 January 1979 at age 78. He was the guitarist. Andrew J Carter, Sr. was born 4 May 1877 and died 13 June 1956 at age 79. Andrew is not in the photograph. They lived in Monroe Co, MS.
