CROYDON FRISK. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Croydon is now a district of South London. Originally published in Charles and Samuel Thompson's Twenty Four Country Dances for the Year 1767, and reprinted in their third country dance collection (London, 1773). It was entered (as were several tunes from the Thompson's 1773 collection) in the 1788 music manuscript copybook of fiddlers John and William Pitt Turner (Norwich, Conn.).
