Crumb Creek Posey
CRUMB CREEK POSEY. AKA and see "My Love is/She's But a Lassie Yet [1]," "The Kings Head," "Lindsay Munnell Tune," "The Virginia Reel," "The White Cockade." American, Reel. USA, southwestern Pa. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (irregular time). Except for the first, the alternate titles were local southwestern Pa. titles, and, in this case, floaters. However, all versions of the tune were derived from the Scottish original "My Love She's But a Lassie Yet." Bayard though this Scottish strain to be "possibly the best-known instrumental folk tune in the whole Pennsylvania tradition," although no one local name seemed to predominate.
