X:1 T:Fairies March M:C| L:1/8 R:March S:John Rook music manuscript collection (1840, p. 54) N:Rook was a multi-instrumentalist from Waverton, near Wigton, Cumbria N:The c' notes in the 1st measure, 2nd strain are clearly marked in the ms, N:but 'b' notes make more musical sense. With the substitution of 'b' notes N:the first few measures of the 2nd strain do strongly remind of N. Gow's N:well-known "Fairy Dance."
