I have been a 5-string banjoist since 1960, learning first Pete Seeger tunes then switching to bluegrass and finally to old-time and so-called clawhammer styles. I started playing old-time fiddle in 1995 and now consider fiddle my main instrument. Many years ago I taught banjo students but I have given that up in favor of learning the infinite number of fiddle tunes. I am a lover of traditional music. No academic credentials.
