I am a university professor by day, and an amateur musician (bass player, mostly) by night (and the occasional afternoon). I like most kinds of music, including traditional folk and jazz, and the beautiful Beatles, whose music I grew up on. I play mostly 5-string fretless basses, but also a Kala 4-string acoustic ukulele bass (which sounds a lot like an upright, but is much smaller and lighter).
