Said to be an old County Cork tune transmitted by William Collins, an older Kerry fiddler who now makes his home in New York City. Bill Black (1996) identifies Bill Collins as from Meelin, County Cork, father of Shanachie records founder Dan Collins. The tune is sometimes called "Hearty Boys of Ballymoate (The)," actually the name of another tune, after it was recorded by the group De Dannan in a set called "The Hearty Boys..."; "Bill Collins" was the untitled follow-up tune.
