MISS MURRAY'S REEL [3]. AKA and see "Anthony Murray's Reel." Scottish, Reel (cut time). A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune was originally published by Alexander McGlashan as "Anthony Murray's Reel." The tune was directed by Campbell to be played in AEae tuning on the fiddle. Campbell's transcription for his AEae tunes depicts notes to be fingered in standard (GDae) tuning, but when sounded they are in the correct key. Thus the low 'G' notes of the transcription sound like 'A' notes when played. Similarly, the 'G' notes in the first two measures (and elsewhere in the tune) are to be played with the finger on the D string, rendering an 'A' note, rather than playing an open 'A' note on the A string.
