Back to Lord Loudon's March (1)

LORD LOUDONS MARCH. AKA – "Lord Loudean's March." AKA and see "London March." Scottish, March. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The melody appears in the 1768 (James) Gillespie Manuscript of Perth and in Preston's Marches, Airs & Minuets (London, 1804). The Scottish versions published by Bremner and Gillespie appear to predate the later versions printed (and entered into manuscripts) as "London March," a title that is probably a corruption of "Loudon's March."
