GRAND MARCH OF NORMAL [1]. AKA and see "Captain Bluett's March," "Russian Grand March." American, March (4/4 time). USA, southwestern Pa. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Probably a corruption of 'Grand March' from Bellini's opera Norma, although it (along with version #2) has nothing musically in common with that work (Bayard, 1981).

Source for notated version: Steffy (fiddler from Pa., 1949) [Bayard].

Printed sources: Bayard (Dance to the Fiddle), 1981; No. 254, pp. 216-217.
