GUENILLE, LA (The Rag). AKA – "Reel de la guénille." AKA and see "Rags (The)." French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC'. Hart & Sandell (2001) note the title refers to a piece of cloth, and that it is a commonly heard tune in Québec. The attribute the tune's popularity in part to singer Mary Travers "La Boduc" who set words to it.

Source for notated version: fiddler Louis Beaudoin (1921–1980, Burlington, Vt.), whose own source was Denis Mathieu [Hart & Sandell].
