LOWLANDS OF SCOTLAND, THE. AKA and see "My Love is Far Away," "Scotch Mary." Scottish, Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Kennedy): AA'BB' (Kerr). The reel is traditionally paired with the strathspey "Highlands of Scotland." It appears (as "Lowlands of Scotland") in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman. although Goodman's setting is distanced from that printed in the Kerr's collection.
