PRIDE OF THE NORTH HORNPIPE, THE. Scottish, Hornpipe. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "The Pride of the North" is the name of a tune in the Northumbrian Pipers' Society publication "The Fiddle Music of James Hill." It may be that early 19th century Gateshead fiddler-composer Hill (known for his hornpipe compositions) is the composer of the tune.
