LADY BELHAVEN'S DELIGHT. Scottish, Jig. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune is a jig setting of William Marshall's strathspey "Mrs. Hamilton of Wishaw’s Strathspey." Strathspeys can fairly easily be rendered as jigs by converting each duple time bar into two 6/8 bars. It is curious, remarks Emmerson (1971), that there is little mention of such transformations in Scottish musical literature.
