MISS H. SCOTT'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Borders fiddler-composer biography:John Pringle (c. 1770-c. 1807). The title probably refers to Harriet Scott (b. 1794), one of the four daughters of Lieutenant-General John Scott (1757-1812) of Craigentinny, Edinburgh, 5th Baronet of Ancrum, and his wife Harriet Graham. Pringle wrote several tunes for members of the family (see also "Miss Scott of Ancrum’s Reel," "Mr. John Scott's Reel," "Lady Scott's Reel," "Lady Scott’s Strathspey").
