Sheet Music for "Killie Krankie [5]"Killie Krankie [5]ReelBook: George P. Knauff - Virginia ReelsNotes: Published in Baltimore by Geo. Willig n.d. (1839?)Transcription: AK/Fiddler's Companion

KILLIE KRANKIE [5]. AKA and see "Money Musk." The tune was printed under the title "Killie Krankie" in George P. Knauff's Virginia Reels, volume I (No. 1, p. 1), in 1839, which name was given to the tune because it was associated with the Scottish dance called "Killie Krankie." By the year 1800 it was generally known by the "Money Musk" title, or sometimes as the generic title "Highland Fling." It may have been this tune recorded (but not released) as "Killie-Cranky" by Texas fiddler Forrest Copeland for Brunswick in 1929.
