PATSY TUOHY'S JIG. AKA - "Patsy Touhey's Jig." AKA and see "Judy Hynes," "Nancy Hynes," "Pat McGillarney," "Peter Tuohy's Favorite/Peter Touhey's." Irish, Jig. Ireland, County Sligo. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The jig was recorded by Capt. Francis O'Neill in Chicago on a cylinder machine in the early 1900's, from the playing of Irish uilleann piper and variety stage performer Patsy Touhey (1865-1923). Touhey was originally from a musical family in Loughrea, County Galway, but moved to the United States with them at the age of three. The jig was published in the periodical Treoir as "Peter Tuohy's Favorite." See note for "Annotation:Nancy Hynes" for more.
