VICTOR BOWDEN'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Dundee Hornpipe," "Kildare Fancy," "Kildare Hornpipe (1) (The)," "Paine's Hornpipe," "Pantomime Reel (2)." English, Hornpipe (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears as an untitled hornpipe in the c. 1890 music manuscript collection of musician George H. Watson of Swanton Abbott, East Anglia. It was given the title "Victor Bowden's Hornpipe" in recent times to acknowledge the generosity of Mr. Bowden of Kemsing, Kent, who brought Watson's ms. to light and kindly donated it to George Frampton. The hornpipe is a member of a large tune family.
