The tune appears in the music manuscripts of Joshua Burnett (Worsborough, South Yorkshire), and G. Huddeswell of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Kidson gives the attribution "by Thos. Pickering, MS 40, p. 27," and notes the 'A' part is very much like "Johnston's Hornpipe."
